Music and sound mod

Post by exsonic01 »

Let's say I have some ogg files and wav files to replace the original music/sound in data file. Can I just replace the original music/sound to new ogg or wav file to make "sound mod"?

I tried to swap the mainmenu music with other ogg file, but it is not working. Are there any specific format to be required or limit to be considered, to make such sound mod by replacing ogg files or wav files?

It should be enough to just overwrite the existing files. Are you sure the .ogg music was saved as .ogg format, or did you change the file name extension from some other format?

Hmmm I coverted mp4 file I have to ogg file, using web converter, you can google "mp4 to ogg file converter" and there are bunch of websites to convert mp4 or mp3 to ogg.

I guess then conversion of mp3 or mp4 to ogg was the problem for my case. What software would you use if you need to convert mp3 or mp4 to ogg or wav for this game?

When creating audio for games, I like to use Audacity as it can export both ogg and wav files. You might need to install FFmpeg library first to be able to open mp3/mp4 files
