Movement of Formation?

Post by Grim.Reaper »

Seems like when I try to move a formation, my HQ ends up only moving. I do select the formation symbol and give the order, but then only my HQ advances. Its probably something I am not doing correctly....any ideas?

What is this 'HQ' you're talking about? The leading unit in a formation, or a HQ formation? Post a screenshot perhaps?

I thought the same thing - just select the HQ - but started reading the manual. Bright idea for me. I'm pretty sure you have to lasso all the units you want to move.

Maybe I was doing something wrong earlier, tried again and now appear to be moving....

I found out you lasso the units you want to move together and then click on the map but not on a unit to give them all the order. If you lasso then click on one unit, it deselects the others and only selects the unit you clicked on.

So just lasso all the units and click on a map spot?

A tutorial would be nice in the game

You can shift+click also to select multiple units.

To move a formation, you should select the formation flag. If some units have been detached from the formation (you see a red rectangle around the unit) then they must be reattached (hotkey control+R).

Hi Veit,
That doesn't work for me, I started a small scenario with just tanks, clicked on the unit with the flag and gave it an advance order and only that unit moved, not the other 4 tanks. It looks like you have to lasso all the units.

I played a few small games and very good.

To explain it better, click on flag over middle unit this will bring up orders for the formation if up click on any of the unit graphics it will detach the unit from the formation

Do not click on the unit. Click on the flag.
