TRP Confusion

Having read and re-read the section on artillery and TRPs, I'm lost. I'm attempting the Twin Valleys scenario and the first thing you must do before starting is set the TRP. My questions on that are:

1. The overall size of the TRP circle is not adjustable, right? If I understand the concept correctly, your fire mission can be set anywhere inside of the TRP.

2. Once the TRP location is set, then I set up a fire mission. I see in the mission set up that you can alter the size of the fire mission box with + and - arrows. However, the manual states you can also change the size of the fire control box by hitting the shift/control keys and using your mouse wheel. I cannot get that to work. I have tried hitting both keys and then the mouse wheel as well as each key individually then the mouse wheel and all I get in the main map zooming in/out. Is there somewhere inside/outside the purple fire control box my mouse has to be to get it to change size?

You can set a fire mission anywhere. Being closer to the TRP just gives you a bonus in response time.

The TRP size is not adjustable. You can set fire missions everywhere, but they will be faster to adjust inside the TRP radius. For example, Soviet artillery is extremely slow outside the TRPs.

It works when you're setting the fire mission target area, after clicking the 'set target' button in the artillery menu.
