Small Battles

Apologies if this has been covered.

I am seriously interested in this game but I struggle with handling many units.

What is the smallest battle (skirmish) I could play? Could I go down to infantry platoon size, or a couple of armoured vehicles?

Yes. If you select units for the both sides manually, you can have just couple vehicles or infantry squads fighting each other.

Any snipers or single-man units?

You could set up a two man fireteam vs two man fireteam battle. I don't think there are any single man units, but you could mod a sniper for sure. Handling a lot of units isn't as hard as it seems, you don't need to focus on what every unit is doing, just look at one small part of the map and select the nearest unit. I tend to advance in short incremental steps. At any given moment, most of my units are sitting idle awaiting orders.

I can tell you that almost all NATO snipers are two man teams at the minimum...a shooter and a spotter. Some even use a three man team, where the third man is the rear security since both the shooter and spotter are fixated in one direction together. I cannot speak to Warsaw Pact snipers though.

There was a French 2-men sniper team in freeware database, back in the day, but it was not exceptionally impressive as unit.

Would love to see snipers in game and to be honest more depth to the infantry in general.
