Slow running

Post by Bipman »

Hi

I've checked the forum and readme file but can't see how to solve the issue. The 4 training scenarios run well but Defending Meximieux runs really slow. It doesn't make much difference if I turn the path calculations down and I have the latest screen drivers. I'm running Windows 10 with a reasonable processor and graphics card so any ideas?

It is the processor that is the problem here. It is choked down. I use a free program Laptop called Razer Cortex that frees up the CPU and memory when you start a game. It has done magic for me and others has also reported big difference using this program. You can download it from here: https://www.razer.com/cortex

For my part, I shall do my duty as a general; I shall see to it that you are given the chance of a successful action. /Lucius Aemilius Paullus

Thanks, I'll give it a go. The processor is not doing anything though.

Try changing your visibility. Start your game then go to Tools then Line of Sight Tool and it will show the delay.
Restart the game but also change the visibility to about 14 hexes and then check your Line of Sight tool and
see the change in delay should be faster. Also, scenarios with lots of units bogs down the game.

Is that the visibility in the scenario editor?

Yes, it's in the editor, I should have mentioned that. Goto File, then open, browse to find the TotH folder the scenarios are in, then select the scenario. Goto attributes, it's not on the toolbar but
under Settings. There you can change the visibility. Leave everything else alone. Save the scenario with the new visibility. Then see if it makes a difference. It should. When you are more
familiar with the game check out the editor. On occasion, I make changes to scenarios and experiment with creating new scenarios. Happy Thanksgiving![:)]
