SC wont launch at all!

Hi!
Bought the game a while back from steam and it run fine. Now it doesnt and I dont know whats wrong. Reinstalling wont help. Im running latest version of Windows 10 and the Steam and the game. This is what ends up in exception_trace.log file:
(HAD TO REPLACE ALL THE ZEROES FROM THE lOG AS "XXX" BECAUSE YOUR FORUM THINKS THIS IS A SPAM POST)

Sorry to hear about the trouble and not sure what that could be to be honest. Perhaps a full uninstall, reboot, reinstall to see if that helps?

good luck and let us know how you get on, windows 10 isn't the issue, most of the time it's the Antivirus programs some use which stop apps and programs from running or conflicting with them, so a clean startup helps most game problems, so check your start up and also your AV logs,...

Hi!
Tryed uninstalling all Steam games and Steam, removed everything related to it from registry, rebooted, reinstalled, nothing, still doesnt work. Tryed with Windows Defender off and tryed with admin account, doesnt work. Always the same errors.

Nothing has changed in my computer, it must be either latest Windows update or latest SC update that messed it up this bad. Nothing seems to help. Just wondering why isnt anyone else having this issue?

I suspect this is Windows related, maybe try another Windows update or an update of your Video and Sound card drivers?

Found solution! It was Windows Defenders ransomware protection! It had prevented the .exe files from accessing filesystem. Added them to exclusions and everything worked fine.

I wonder how many others are having this problem and how to prevent this via Steam/Slitherine/SC installation, without user having to disable ransomware protection or adding those files to exclusion list?

This is veeeery strange. The ransomware protection should be on by default and since it catches SC from violating it in my computer, it should catch it violating it on any other computer aswell.

Can you verify, that you have ransomware protection on and no SC.exe etc. files are in exclusion list?

the correct way to install any program and run it is,

install as admin, on a administrator account, update and run as admin

then it sets up the correct permissions to install, and run

with no need to disable or add any information to any default AV installed on windows 10.

programs and apps not from the default install, maybe different, so there home pages will need or could be needed to be searched for white listing or adding to the exceptions list of none default AV type programs
