Adding to the database

Post by dpabrams »

I created and added a M577A2 Command track, complete with new sprites and added it as a unit and placed it in a formation. However I received an error that "resource not found". I do not know how to fix this or edit the resources_custom.xml file. Is it even possible at this point to add to my custom data base?

Yes, checkout the vendors guide to creating a new DB Here.
Tnen you just select your DB when you launch the game.

Are you working in your own copy of the dataset? Have you activated your dataset per the dev's instructions? Are you using an editing program like Notepad ++ so you can better see the structure of the XML files and note any missing or bad structures?

When you add new graphics files you must include them in the resources_custom.xml.

"sprite name" is the resource name you use in your database.

"image file" is the actual file in the game file system.

I thought adding them in the custom database did that for you?

They are in the custom database, but the resources_custom.xml file must be edited with an external text editor.

OK,I have a brand new M577A2. I still have to figure out the alpha channel on the png file but I figured out the resource file. Thanks, I will get this worked out and create a more robust US Company HQ for the mech and tank units.
