Crash to desktop again

Bad news... that crash to desktop occured again.

This time it was a problem with my internet connection. Connection was lost sometime while I did my turn. I noticed it when the turn should be uploaded to the pbem server --> server error. But then the game showed the message that it was uploaded successfully. That can't be possible because the connection was still lost.

I re-established my internet connection and started the game again to see if it was really uploaded successfully and the game showed me that it is my turn. When I loaded the turn I saw a strange replay again. Like an italian sub attacking an empty hex (where my greek battleship was located when I saw the replay of this turn the first time). And later in the replay there was this error message again. As soon as I click on "ok" the game is closed instantly.

The last time this happened it was when the server had problems. This time my connection was the problem. At least we know what is the problem now. But I still don't know how to get around this problem.

What I do not understand... shouldn't the game record my turn on my local HD while I do the turn and then upload it as soon as a internet connection is re-established? That way this problem would not exist anymore.

I want to add something:

even tough the empty hex thing works the crash only occurs when a figher is getting into air to intercept an incoming bomber. That was the same as the last time. Maybe that helps somehow.

Hi Tech support - This is the second time in the last month this issue has occurred between Mika and myself. Last time the issue occurred was around turn 77, this time turn ~60. We have invested so much time into these games to have them crash out. We need some help to resolve, or I feel we cannot play this game...

Love the game, but we can't have it crash and end up with a terminal game bug like this each time. Feeling frustrated.

maybe I found a simple workaround. Disabling the sound stopped the crash to desktop problem. The only thing is that I don't hear any hits of air units that take damage and that are outside of the viewed map.

Even tough it was a very strange turn. I saw units attacking empty hex fields. I thought that are only problems with the graphics but when a tank then attacked an empty city and the city (!) took damage (inlcuding MPP loss) I was very surprised.

I just hope it works the normal way next turn and I can turn on the sounds again.
