Just before 0100 on Feb 17th CPT Bufton's TFs open up on the Japanese troops on Singapore Island. Spotters report 317 casualities. They then reload and head south to hide from enemy bombers. Captains of various transport ships get their orders to start moving towards Singapore from where ever they were at. Transport planes have been moving to Palembang or already there moving troops. An xAKL is sunk just off Palembang by a German sub. The harbor master watches as bombers come over the harbor and take aim the HMS Imperieus. Seven bombs hit the ship, in just a few hours the ship will be able to leave port and head south to safety. Workers move around fixing the light damage done to the harbor. Ground troops are cleaning weapons building more fortifications, for the next attack.

As CPT Bufton's bombardment TFs start heading south from bombarding Singapore again they get the distress call from HMS Imperieus, she was listing to the starboard side after she took a torpedo from a Jap sub. Several DDs were able to pick up the survivors of the Imperieus. Although the bombardment killed 348, the mood was somber, everyone had a friend on the Imperieus. Gen Ter Poorten the commanding officer of the KNIL. He is handed a report by his AM. he reads the report: Fighters 400, Heavy Bombers 29, Med Bombers 85, Dive Bombers 88, Torpedo bombers 34 with more close by and coming. He asks for a report on ground troops.

My Thoughts
Singapore is lost on the next attack. Around 26,500 causalities have been suffered by the Japanese since they attack Johore Bahru. My transports should reach Singapore on the next turn. If he hasn't taking it by then, I will load up one of the Indian Divisions and sail south to Java. Both are in decent shape, the 11th is in pretty good shape. It looks like when all this is said and done 8 divisions and a tank division will need some time to fix disablements and draw replacements. This will give me more time to prepare Java. I don't think he will land troops at Palembang, I bet he will use Djambi to offload the troops and use the Italian and ACEH troops to try and take Palembang More later.
