Red Ring for Formations

Post by basilstaghare »

As I recall, someone had a mod to change the formation highlighter from gray to red. Would anyone have a link or instructions on how to do that? Thanks.

There are plenty of mods around, I just don't know where to find what you want. Search the mods subfolder.

It is easy to just change the color by yourself. Go into TOAW's Graphics folder and grab brass_cursor.png and steel_cursors.png files and all their variants (h and s prefixes, example: h_steel_cursor.png). Place a copy in your "C:\Users\Administrador Dell\Documents\My Games\The Operational Art of War IV\Graphics Override" folder. If you don't own a photo edition software, download GIMP (it's free and I beleive the awful Windows Paint doesn't allow for hue changes, yet I'm not sure). Then you just need to change it's hue. There is a HUE/SATURATION command in GIMP where you can change the color at will, I just don't remember the path for it. Save them back to the graphics override folder. That's it.
