Lets plays / sneak previews of SC World at War

Post by PJL1973 »

For those wanting more information on how the game plays, looks like there are a couple of let's play / previews already out on Youtube:

I've watched both sets and the big question I have is about turn length. It looks like the player's turn has 2 weeks of calendar time followed by the opponent's turn which then seem to take 2 further weeks of calendar time. How do turns work in this game?

The turns alternate. So one full turn cycle would be approx. 4 weeks or one month for the player then AI to take their turn. In the previous editors you can make the turns simultaneous or alternate as the default. You could also change the days for each turn, making them less or more. I hope they still allow this in editor.

The ability to edit turn lengths as desired is still fully available in the Editor and to answer game length, a full game would be about 160 Axis and Allied turns in total from 1939 to late 1945.

In terms of overall turns relative to our previous European release, it actually works out to almost the same number of turns for a full game.

Hope this helps,
Hubert

Looks like the Gamer_1745 link above is invalid, but this one should work:

I would humbly like to add my little Allies Let's Play, since it is actually quite fun to play and loose for so long.

The Forum does not allow be to post the link itself, but since it is on topic, I hope just hinting at might be ok:
