Steam key

Post by Bert Blitzkrieg »

Can anybody tell me why I would want a steamkey for CMANO when I already have the game directly from Matrix? Are there benefits? Downsides?

No downsides. You'll have acess to the game on another platform. I primarily use Steam for my gaming needs, so I requested the Steam key.

For me, the benefits are auto-updates and able to play Steam Workshop scenarios. Downside is that I do not have Steam Keys for the other DLCs, so I have to still install the Matrix version to play them.

Did you buy them in the Matrix Store? If so, your Matrix number can be used as a Steam key! Use the Matrix registration number as a Steam key and activate your DLCs on Steam!

Steam Workshop scenarios.

I'm curious, I don't use Steam but are there a lot of scenarios on the workshop that aren't in the community pack?

Thanks

It worked like a charm! Really freed up a lot of precious space on my hard disk so now I can decide on what new game to install... [:D]

Here's a little trick w/ Steam if you need space and don't want to fully uninstall a game - In the Steam/Preferences settings under 'Download', set up another 'Library Folder' pointing at a folder on a second disk drive. Once you do so, you can right-click a game in your Library, go to Properties, then the 'Local Files' tab, and there, 'Move Install Folder' to the other 'Library' (Drive/Directory).

I haven't tried this w/ a USB stick or external drive, but I'm assuming this will work the same way. You can temporarily 'move' the game to it, though playing it from there may be kind of slow, but in this way, you don't have to Uninstall / re-download / re-install a huge game.

That was the greatest advice ever! I was wondering about that...
