Short cut 8 key

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Short cut 8 key

It appears you can only use this key in the air phase not the ground movement is there a reason for this?

Works in ground phase for me. See screenshot. I just pressed it halfway through my ground phase.
