replay of previous turn ?

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

BTW it would be also nice to have the ability of pausing the replies. Reply of the reply would be nice too. That's why I sometimes miss the traditional PBEM.

This was discussed in an earlier thread by me . Issues is the ability to play back what happened would require lots of work and space if it was done on the server. And the ability to save a copy locally of the playback I believe it was said that it might open the way to decompressing the file and cheating by looking at your opponents hidden units.

I would guess they would have to pull that part of the code, and rewrite it saving the replay as a separate file/movie.

If you have recording capability you could manually record while it was playing it playing back.

I believe pressing the Pause/Break key on your keyboard will pause the playback during PBEM++ replay.

I wasn't aware of it, thank you! Hopefully it won't crash the game since the servers tend to be a little unstable.

Great and it should be ok as the server is only contacted when data needs to be uploaded or downloaded, and during the replay the data has already been downloaded and won't be uploaded again (server won't be contacted again) until after you complete your turn or save the turn etc.

So the replay at this point is already downloaded ? So there shouldn't be any reason not to repeat the replay and pause along the way providing the game will permit it …. ?
