The SOP menu colors
The SOP menu colors
What do you think about using the green or other color to show the 'active' SOP states, instead of the standard 'disabled' button color? The reason why the 'disabled' color has been used is that since the state is already active there's no need to click the button.

RE: The SOP menu colors
I think I raised this in the alpha or beta testing and suggested the selected SOP to be green as otherwise, the selected SOP does not stand out enough with a quick glance as it is only "dimmed" out text if I recall.
RE: The SOP menu colors
I like it. But shouldn't all the buttons be green in the attached example? Or are you just showing the difference between the two colors?

Great, much better when having a quick glance.

I think the Green is what is implemented and current, the amber has been selected and waiting for the time delay to count down to zero and then it will turn green also.

I like the colors, but I can see we have two different ones. green and yellow. I have a very hard time discerning the two.
RE: The SOP menu colors
Speaking as someone who is red-green color blind, the yellow/green combination shown in the sample above are two of the most difficult colors for me to differentiate. In fact, at first glance I didn't realize there were two colors there until mentioned in subsequent posts. If you're going to use yellow & green could you use something like this which is much easier to see?

Exactly, this is easy to see for me as well.

I agree, this combination of colors is not appropriate for red-green color blind people.
RE: The SOP menu colors
The yellow color means 'in transition' due to the command delay. The green color means that the state is active.
So, any suggestions for the SOP colors then? If I'm going to give the SOP buttons special colors then they can be anything.

That shade of yellow-green rjantzi put hereis good.

The yellow color means 'in transition'
Thanks for the clarification guys. I think the yellow and green work well against the overall dark background. But color schemes are very subjective. Maybe have an option to retain the colors in effect now.

I have no idea which to use, as you said they can be anything. However, these are combinations you should avoid if you want to address concerns of color blind people:
Green & Red
Green & Brown
Blue & Purple
Green & Blue
Light Green & Yellow
Blue & Grey
Green & Grey
Green & Black

Absolutely, another color for the active state is definitely needed. I could not understand how this menu worked when I first got the game. I scanned through the manual and couldn't find anything that talked about this.

What do you think about these SOP button color and style candidates?

I like the top version. Easier to read the text and the colors are more subdued. The outlines are a nice touch.

RE: The SOP menu colors
I also prefer first (top) version.
RE: The SOP menu colors
Hi all,
I noticed that the SOP selections don't show anymore since I up dated to latest rev. I was re-playing the initial scen's. The SOP selection highlights when I first pick them, then back to base graphic once the time starts (no colors or text highlighted). I think the units still follow the SOP, but the display does not reflect current or transition too new orders.
Is there a setting I hit? I also have both DLCs just installed.

RE: The SOP menu colors
..just further clarification to my last post. I'm talking about the group SOP (platoon, company level), not Unit.
