ship hex question

Can someone explain why my ship transport wont go another 2 hexes northeast to the port.

The landing port is near repair 15, but Riga, the exiting port, also has repair damage.

Smaller ports become unusable at lower levels of damage than bigger ports. I'm not sure what the number is but anything over 50% makes a minor port unusable.

Dunno if it is applicable over sea hexes but could ZOC be the culprit?

not clear. I can gain entry to the small port on the island straight above riga. And that port was taken way after the minor port in question.

and no zoc, all this land is mine. We are shipping in settlers as we type.

Doctor K is correct, but also the size of the unit(s) you are transferring factors in. What is the current damage in Kuressare (small port on the island straight above riga)?

I have seen this pot referred to a few times on port damage tm.asp?m=4302288&mpage=1

The smallest port shuts down if there is any damage at all - 1% or more

AFAIR you need at minimum one port point in fully working order to perform such actions, a size-1 port with 1% damage is considered non-operational. A size-2 port with 1% damage should work

Follow-up


The port in question is now 100% repaired but still German boat wont get to harbor.

I've noticed that the one sea hex in front of the receiving port is still showing as Russian controlled.
It has never converted to german sea control . Thus my transport is blocked.

Thus: it's weird bug in my game or the sea hex not converting should be repeating in other games.

Also, Ive not yet moved a german combat ground unit next to this russian sea hex.

Maybe that will work and it will convert. I will report back on this.
