Playing online or PBEM??

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Playing online or PBEM??

Post by KDiggity »

Hey all, quick question (maybe not so quick...)

I'm relatively new to SPWAW, I started with v4.5, and now have 5.01. I consider myself a novice and would like to learn to play SPWAW better. I think that playing against an actual person would be more educational and overall more intellectualy taxing than against AI. In no way am I saying I'm too good for the computer, it's just that I think there's a big difference between playing against a computer, and playing against someone who is plotting and planning just like you.

I joined combat sommand and combat net, but now am at a loss as exactly what to do. Combat net had noone on it, and I'm still trying to figure out league play on combat command (I registerd in the WWII league). I'd be interested in PBEM especially, since this game takes such a large chunk of time.

Any help or game offers would be greatly appreciated by yours truly.

Tnanks very much

Kieran

PS. Yes, I do realize that I will now be absolutely slaughtered, but that's life! :D

Well you know calling yourself a novice and aking for PBEM opponents is probably a lot like wearing a coat made up of steaks and entering a lions den. No doubt you'll soon be beseiged by challenges.

No seriously though if you're up for a PBEM game (and its a far, far better challenge than playing the predicatable AI) drop me a line (your email is blocked). I promise to go light on ya :D .

Kieran,
I'm fairly new to SPWAW and would be intrested in PBEM. I expect to have Ver 5.1 installed in a day or so.
We could both use it as learning experiances.

PBEM is the way to go... real time clicking can be fun but it is hard to arrange and it's like playing blitz chess, you can't use much brains there, it's basically reflexes.
