Rail Cap

Post by postfux »

Playing Axis against AI I kept AGN and AGC on strategic movement.

The next turn Rail Cap was 0 and only AGN and AGC could be moved by rail. When AGN and AGC get off rail next turn there is normal rail cap.

Dont think this is working as intended.

If you leave them on the trains at the end of your turn (do not debark them), they count against your rail cap the next turn.

Are you sure about this? I have one tank division, some airfields and two army groups on rail: cap 0
If i debark rhe two Hqs I get cap 14t and something.
Moving the Hqs with cap 0 should also not be possible.

I think the cap is used just to load units on to rails. No additional rail cap I used to move by rail once they are loaded on rails. It seems to be a count of the number of railway wagons used, not rail track used. So if the HQs are already loaded they can still be moved even if the remaining rail cap is zero.

Thanks, you are correct. Only loading units uses up rail cap. Whether they are moved or not doesnt matter at all.

My fault leaving them on rails.
