Select Aircraft for Missions ?

Hello,

I am trying to learn this game by replicating peoples moves and trying to get hold of all the mechanics.
This involves the "move airbase to the front" -> "rebase aircraft to it" -> "do evil things to the opponent"

In this case I tried to use the Stukas of the StG77 to destroy planes on the ground. So I moved them in range and tried to manually select these guys for airfield bombing. The following map to explain:

(It does not, I must not post pictures) So, I did as HLYA in his AAR "Vernichtungskrieg", but it won´t work for me, because I can not bring those damn Stukas to fly. The possibly went to the easternmost airfield, because that was emptied in one go and they got kills.

The Ju87 accumulated only 7..8% flown miles, around 25 of them ready in every group. When I select them, they will not show up at the target, only the escorts. If I try to fly them without excorts, the game pauses for a moment, but nothing else happens (no fight results window).

Do I do something wrong? I assume so, because there is a detailed AAR showing precisely this action.

Hmmm, obviously they are out of ammo [&:]

Possibly have to select the airbase to move more carefully ?!?!?

Out of ammo, range, on night missions, 9 units on the airbase and only 7 can be manually selected?

Don't know how long its been there but it looks isolated and above all a long way away from it's supply source/working rail head and as you have said, no ammo. Check air doctrine and airgroup range as well.

Thank you all. I just moved "any" base there, that just had not enough ammo with it. The bombers were out of ammo. Did it correctly the 2nd time and moved an emptied bomber base with plenty of ammo forward to host the Stukas. Everything worked fine then.

But I would have expected, that the "empty" bombers would not show up as selectable. But now that I know where to look at. This game has so damn many details ... [:)]
