Great reading![&o]

Why expand one Frank factory to almost 300, and leave others below 30? A consequence of realistic r&d off?

I don't think realistic r&d off is a huge game changer for Japan, it lets you correct mistakes at the cost of supply and gives much more flexibility with engine factories again at the cost of supplies.

I'd shut off the Tojo and Ha-34 production. That airframe is well past its prime. You have plenty of engines and aircraft in the pools. Not sure what you're doing with the Helen, but there are enough engines to last you to the end of the war if you choose to build more of them.

Thanks Lowpe, always appreciate your commentary.

I tend to select one factory in a heavily defended locality (Tokyo usually) and ramp it right up from the get go. The other factories are primarily used for R&D purposes. It allows me to enter into production the newest type very quickly and keep pushing on the R&D front. The approach is working well in this game on the proviso that Tokyo isn't razed to the ground but it will also allow me to centralise defences as well- we will see[:)]

Thanks Mike, good point and I agree.

In this game it has been frightening how quickly the Tojo has become obsolete. I haven't seen that happen in my previous games.

I am using the Helen as the primary ASW platform at the moment.
