Operation Lion de Mer 2004, Matt and larry

Post by larryfulkerson »

Here's a peek at the map and the positions of some of the units and as far as I can determine it's April 4, 2004 and the EU has an army now and they move first and what's called "the collition" shall defend England. So it's operation SeaLion with modern equipment. I'm still waiting for Matt's first turn moves and I have no idea what to expect. I'm going to turn all my fighters on of course but I don't know what the best use of the bombers might be yet. Maybe the best course of action is lots of sea int and plain int too.
I'll have to think about that some more.

So the premise of this one is that the U.S. and England (Called the Trumpee Coalition if it was more modern I guess), decided the E.U. needs a hard lesson about who's boss so they will buy more American powdered milk. The E.U. knows the invasion is coming and decided not to sit and wait. They launch a pre-emptive attack across the channel in order to capture the ports and deny a place for the American reinforcements to land.
and that's it..
It would probably be a little more fun if the TO&E was up to date but... its still an invasion of England so that's fun anyways.
Larry is the Trumpee's and will defend England and I will attempt to preserve the last bastion of western democracy on the planet by kicking there ass with Germany, France, Spain and the Netherlands.

Matt invaded with heliborne troops, paratroops, and special forces via the sea, and has gained a couple of ports and now it's up to me to push him back into the sea.

That rascal has been doing airfield strikes and it looks like I lost an entire squadron of planes in one attack. My planes are going to not be combat worthy after this. I'm not sure my planes are all that superior to his so this could get interesting.

A lot of the EU units look a lot like mine and I'm having to have to zoom out and discern where they are before I start moving units because I don't know where the danger is because I don't recognize the enemy units as enemy because of the color scheme being used.

Matt and I decided to "bag this one" because of the confusion over the counters.
My eyes aren't what they used to be. I need something simple, obvious.
