When a PBEM game ends ...

Post by nukkxx5058 »

Hi just ended a PBEM. My opponent resigned and I received an email saying:
This game is now complete but you can view a playback of the final turn by running The Operational Art of War IV and clicking Multiplayer. Select this game from the list of current games and click Play.

But I don't see any way to watch the playback ... Is this feature working ? Can I watch at least the end game situation ?
Thanks

I'm afraid this is a major fault with the PBEM++ system that the devs seem to have ignored although it's been discussed several times... [8|]

The PBEM++ system is a total kludge, if the bugs wasn't enough, it also sends your password+serial in clear text over the internet [8|]

Nope, at least the last time I checked, about a year ago. And I doubt they've changed it since.

Really I wouldn't worry too much about anyone being interested in your PBEM++ password, unless you use the same password also for the email address (which is also sent btw). And why would anyone care about a game serial number, right? [;)]

I just think it's a good indication of the lazy way the whole PBEM++ system is implemented, bugs included.

These days when we're encouraged to always check our web logins are encrypted, companies like Matrix, Sliterine and Battlefront seem to still exist in some kind of limbo of about 15 years ago when little was encrypted and no-one cared anyway, because the internet was a safe place [8|]
