actually your losses for that turn don't look bad at all only 9k permanent and you replace more than that per week esp when you factor in Hiwis. Your truck situation does not look good tho at all.

very bad. after one turn of use, my tanks have no better than mid level fuel the next turn.

why did you thrust east of lake ilmen against a huge part of the soviet army instead of moving on Leningrad directly or encircling Moscow?

It's called the 'right hook'. Some people prefer to go around Leningrad, encircle the city and hopefully a lot of sov troops.

Ive seen the right hok in another aar, but in that one it cut off Leningrad turn 9 or 10. Brian only cut the overland rail several turns later.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but if I was in Brians position and same circumstance I can see myself thinking "If I refocus my entire thrust northward I could get a killing blow on Leningrad" as he did have a lot of armour and other forces in the area to achieve it and he did not have the forces or strength to do that with a direct assault on Leningrad at anytime without repositioning of his forces to facilitate it which would of cost his a couple of turns just to setup

Then HL would of just repositioned in response so it would of been costly in time, risky and easily seen abd counter by HL ahead of time and I wouldn't of been surprised if the situation was much of the same but with less ground taken north of Ryzhev and more taken outside of Leningrad

@BrianG:
What's the story with your arm/mech TOE ? Although morale and experience look good, TOE doesn't. According to the CR from jan-22 (post#315) almost half of them have a TOE below 50%. The ToeM is set at 20 for most of these units. What's the rationale ? To channel supplies manually later on by selecting a higher ToeM for specific units ?

someone mentioned keep toe low during blizzard b/c(well I forget the reason).

In feb I have been withdrawing select armor and refitting. I will work on each tank division to refit during late winter and spring thaw.

also low toe in units as they had very large mp's to supply in October and November.
Then HYLA did lots of tank brigade attacks just to fatigue my tanks more.

Each turn in the blizzard all Axis units that are not in a garrison will lose 5-20% of their elements (The higher morale the lower % lost) so putting Axis mobile arm on 20% TOE is a good way to keep those attrional AFV losses as low as possible and allows you to retain the AFV that would of been lost otherwise from mechanical debuffs by keeping them safe and warm in Berlin
Armour also gets some hefty weather debuffs the Soviets can take advantage of by causing a lot of AFV losses in the blizzard if kept in the field for battle (HL is using this degradation strategy against Brian atm)

By putting TOE's on 20% you can save 1000+ AFV in the pools ready for 42 that would of been lost through attrition and battle otherwise, usually with marginal results, ensuring you are good to go in spring of 42 instead of having to limit your offensives or having to wait for up to half a year to get your armour numbers back up to scratch

I agree low ToE for axis units in the first blizzard is probably best since losses are based on %.

Also then leaves the manpower pool/armaments/vehicles and such to build up over the attritional first blizzard to be released in the spring to fill up all your units right before the summer offensive...basically I concur with ST lol.

Its Gamey but its how the game works.

Very interesting and helpful comment. But shipping tons of Pz eastwards during spring would occupy - IRL - zillions of rail capacity. It's my impresion that it's nowhere taken into account. One question: how long or how many turns will it take to bring a PzDiv from TOE 20 to 100 ?

Yep that's it bud, there are no logistical limits of that kind here like in WitW

If you have your low TOE divisions near/on rail heads then it will take a total of 1 whole turn to fill them up [:D]
It also means you can supply an offensive with 10's of thousands of AFV and 100's of thousands of infantry along 1 rail line which can be incredibly difficult for the Soviets to deal with properly
It's all rather unrealistic to put it mildly
