newbie escorts

Post by tonyscrase »

Hi

Sorry I seem to be asking a lot of questions

In the edit air directive in the Groups row I have ac 260 esc 0 so 260 bombers and no escorts
I have escorts assigned to the mission (although none can reach the target hex)

Does this mean NO escorts are going to fly or will the escorts assigned to the mission accompany the bombers as far as they can

THANK YOU

This if you enable partial escorts (PART ESC in Advanced options). It is enabled by default.

Tony,

Also change the staging base of the AD to be on or close to the airfield where the escorts are based rather than where the bombers are based. Otherwise they use up fuel flying backward to link up with the bombers.

And of course make sure you add drop tanks in the loadout for the escorts.
