Stargate - Eye of Apophis

Working out the bias between the 34 races I spent some time checking what the Replicators thought of the Goa'uld...were they allies or were they enemies.

The Replicators did not make any allies and I found out the following:

"The Replicators saw the Goa'uld as an excellent source of new technology and came to the Milky Way to harvest it. The Replicators wiped out many System Lords before they were destroyed. Indirectly, the Replicators helped free the Jaffa."

The bias between the 35 races has been created using an Excel spreadsheet which randomly calculates the bias.

In the picture below the green shows where 2 races have an alliance, the red shows where the 2 races are enemies.

The values not in red, green or blue will be either allies or enemies.
These are for races who have not formed alliances or become enemies with the other race.

For example, in one game the Asgard and Jaffa may be allies while in the next relations may change and they become enemies.

When the mod is released it will contain a bias file for each day of the month. So if you are starting a new game on the 15th of the month copy the file for that day into the mod folder.

A new bias folder will be created every moth for the mod so every game is different from the last in regard to bias between races.

A screenshot showing how the race bias is created for the mod.

Vanilla Distant Worlds has the bias values as plus or minus 5, 10 or 15.
My mod has bias values of any value between -50 and +50

The bias is calculated on the alliance and enemy status between the races as seen in the TV series.

The red cells seen in the picture below show a negative bias towards the Goa'úld.

The mod has now moved from alpha to beta.

After adding in the 35 races I have tested each race and made sure all bugs have being removed and that the mod does not crash.

The mod is now at a stage where it is playable in its basic form but still needs cosmetic work before it is released.

Currently on target to release the mod a week from today for Stargate fans to enjoy.

Testing an idea for the mod...... if these make an appearance then I may need to make a small change to the storyline of the mod.

Have started the time consuming process of adding in over 500 characters from Stargate to the mod including 7 leaders for Stargate Command along with George S Hammond.

As I go through this process and add in the character portraits I add in additional characters as I find them.

The Leaders of Stargate Command have been finalized as

George Hammond
Henry Hayes
Francis Maynard
Henry Landry
Robert Kinsey
Elizabeth Weir
Richard Woolsey

George Hammond is the first leader to appear with the others appearing in random order.

Every member of all 25 SG teams have been added to the mod.....
Each SG member is identified by the SG Team he or she belongs too.

SG teams play an important role in the mod starting with Jack O'Neill, Samantha Carter, Daniel Jackson and the rest of Sg-1 appearing in the mod first.

Teal'c is not with the SG-1 Team as he is still with the Goa'uld
Vala Mal Doran on the other hand has been included in the team.

If you choose to play as the Goa'uld you can select the following Goa'uld.

Anubis
Apophis
Amaunet
Adria
Hathor
Athena
Heru'ur
Skaara
Nirrti
Osiris
Qetesh
Ra
Tanith
Terok
Ba'al

For the Goa'uld I have created over 1500 characters so far but am hoping to add an additional 1000.

Wraith drones in the mod are currently being named using a new naming convention I have designed so that the Wraith are no longer called Bob, Steve or Alan.

For such scary looking creatures I think some of the names given to the Wraith by the humans who encounter each Wraith character makes the Wraith a little less scary.

While the humans name the Wraith as Steve, Michael etc the Wraith do have names but these were never mentioned outside the Wraith.

For the purpose of this mod the Wraith are now given names such as the examples below.
Dark
Veil
Death
Silk
Stark
Shine
Storm
Strike
Mist
Star
Shade

Some changes to the mod

- As Qetesh will be encountered as one of the many Goa'uld in the mod I have removed Vala Mal Doran from SG1 as this mod is set at a time prior to when the Tok'ra captured Qetesh and forced Qetesh's symbiote out of Vala's body.

This being the same reason why Bra'tac and Teal'c appear as they do in the mod.

The names given to the Goa'uld have a connection to Earth mythology and I have used the same principal to add 263 new characters to the Goa'uld. So if you are familiar with the names of Egyptian Gods and Goddesses you will encounter them in the mod.

This will also help with determining who takes over as leader after the original Goa'uld leaders (eg Ra, Anubis and Apophis) are killed.

There are now 25 seperate Goa'uld System Lords battling each other and Stargate Command as well as 7 Wraith Queens and their Hives invading the Milky Way Galaxy.
