Turn 6. Jul/Aug 1940. End of Turn. Great Britain. France. Convoys, Trade and Production.

The amazing thing was that Great Britain was almost able to get back to full production after seeing 9 CP's sunk and another 6 CP's forced to abort by the Italian surprise submarine attacks. Though, this required that all 4 oil points saved in Great Britain were used for production.

Turn 6. Jul/Aug 1940. End of Turn. Production Report. France.

France's production was half of what it was last turn. And they control less than 50% of the number of factories as they did last turn. Oh, what a difference a turn makes.

Turn 7. Sep/Oct 1940. Resource Lending.

Great Britain.

To the utter surprise and dismay of the French government, Great Britain stops all aid to France. Also, plans are being formulated to withdraw the 1st BEF army if the military situation on the ground in France deteriorate any more. The code name for this withdraw is Operation Dynamo. So far Operation Dynamo is only in the planning stages and only very senior members of the British government and military are even aware of it. Great care, so far, has been made to not let the French get wind of any potential withdraw of the 1st BEF army from France. And to believe it was only a fortnight or two ago that the British were trying to execute Operation Splice and get a 2nd BEF army under the command of General Wavell into France.

Germany.

To reward Mussolini for joining the war against Great Britain, Hitler sends 4 non-oil RP's to Italy, whose production is so anemic that it's down there with China's.

Turn 7. Sep/Oct 1940. Axis #1. France.

The axis win the initiative and elect to move first. Though France did get back several units and receive a number of reinforcements, the situation for the French and the 1st BEF army is critical especially given that the axis are moving first and the weather in the North Temperate (and Med) are fine.

Turn 7. Sep/Oct 1940. Axis #1. East Med. Egypt.

The situation in Egypt for Great Britain looks grim. Only a miracle will keep Alexandria, Egypt out of the hands of the Italians.

Turn 7. Sep/Oct 1940. Axis #1. China.

While there hasn't been a lot of land combat in China, there's been a whole lot of maneuvering by both sides. In the North the communist have pushed forward, however, in doing so they've exposed their southern flank to a Japanese army group commanded by General Umezu in the Yangtze province.

In the south, Admiral Yamamoto will attempt to turning the southern flank of the Nationalist at Nanning when the weather clears.

The Japanese high command has been formulating their long term war strategy. There has been some highly secret discussion between Japan and Germany about a possible joint invasion of the Soviet Union in the summer of 1941. For this to even be possible will require that both Germany and Japan achieve sufficient garrison ratios to break their respective neutrality pacts with the USSR. On a parallel long-term strategy push is planning for expanding into the NEI and British controlled oil and resource rich areas in the South China Sea. This strategy has a definite component of including a strategy to deal with a (neutral) USA.

I hope the CW is building lots of convoys this war.
They've built 12 CP's over the first 6-turns. That's 12 of 89 BP's, or 13.5%, of their total production to date.

Also, they've gotten another 10 to 12 CP's from Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands.
