Mixed up names of the units after modding

Post by Easter80 »

If I change the number of units even slightly in the editor, the wrong names are displayed in the game, even though they are displayed correctly in the editor. Everything is mixed up. I then clicked "Restore Defaults" in the editor, but the unit names still get mixed up.

If this is for a custom campaign and then a saved game for a custom campaign, the names may show wrong for a saved game that was started from before you made these edits. Can you confirm if you start a new game from the recently updated custom campaign that the names show correctly?

Unfortunately are the names of the units still mixed up if I start a new game with the modified 1939 scenario.

Hi Easter80,

That's a very strange one indeed, and I'd have to see the mod directly to be able to properly review the issue. Could you send it to me via WeTransfer to support@furysoftware.com?

Hi Mr. Cater.

I know you have much to do. I understand that checking the mod will take time. I just want to know if you have received my E-Mail.

Hi Easter80,

Could you tell me if you are playing the game in English or in possibly another of the supported languages?

Thanks and this will help me track it down as I believe the issue is related to how mods are treated in other languages.

Alright. Thank you for your answer Mr. Cater. Until you have fixed the problem I'll play the game in English. I allow myself to write some suggestions: I have also tried to add the country Tanu Tuva but I wasn't able, because the hex filds under #surrender1 for the capital of Kyzil had vanished and so there was an error shown. The same with a settlement and a port for the british colony of The Gambia, which I wanted to place as a subdivision of the colony of Nigeria. But I could change Manchuria historical correct to an axis minor state of Japan, but I couldn't make an edit of reunification with China after occupying/liberating by the allies, as it's in case of Vichy France with France. I just don't have the skills for that. I also added the countries Costa Rica and El Salvador. Unfortunately I couldn't Enter the Names of their Capitals San Salvador and San Juan, because of not knowing how to handle it with the text. It writes everyvere on the map when I tried it.

As you could surely see: For myself I've changed the research as an "automatic progress" in form of adding maximum cheats and the diplomacy for allied and axis in the first country of the alphabet which it makes sence in my opinion.

I really like playing this game and I've bought all games of the strategic command series since it started in 2002. A friend of me had shown and introduced me in the first game and since then I realy can say that I'm addicted. Playing it [X(]up to 12 hours on Saturdays is normal for me[X(]. With best regards.

Thanks again for the files and this does indeed seem to be an issue only when you use SaveAs in the Editor in any language other than English. I've fixed this for the next update but it will require you to redo your mod in German with the next update. Apologies for the inconvenience.
