Command LIVE: The King of the Border Report

Post by Daniele »

For weeks, military observers have reported the worsening of the relations between Venezuela and Colombia. The escalation has been reported after a series of incidents occurred on the frontier.

The fear is that a full-scale regional conflict would erupt soon, especially now that the news of a naval Russian expeditionary force diving toward the Venezuelan island of La Orchila is being confirmed. The United States has declared that they will support the government of Bogotà against any aggression.
Venezuela and Colombia have both battle-hardened Armed Forces, backed up by the powerful arsenals of - respectively - Russia and the United States.

The situation is pretty uncertain and even the experts have a hard time predicting the outcomes.

Do you want to know more? Take a look at the report our Command LIVE team dispatched in the are has sent!

Command LIVE: The King of the Border will be out on January 31st!

Looks awesome!

One mistake caught my eye ... on the last page of the report there is a reference to the Munroe Doctrine. Should be the Monroe Doctrine, for President James Monroe.

I wonder how Matrix choose the ships:

USS Ronald Reagan homeport Yokosuka, Japan
USS John Finn Homeport San Diego, California
USS Lake Erie Homeport Pearl Harbor, Hawaii
USS Hue City Homeport Mayport, Florida
USS Mahan Homeport Norfolk, Virginia
USS Bainbridge Homeport Norfolk, Virginia
USS Jimmy Carter Homeport Bangor, Main
USS Seawolf Homeport Bremerton, Washington
USS Hawaii Homeport Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

To me it look like many of them are far from home[&:]

USS Jimmy Carter Homeport Bangor, Main

USS Jimmy Carter is Bangor WASHINGTON, not Bangor, Maine. No way that monster makes it that far up the Penobscot River! :-)

La Orchila Island
Military base off the coast of Venezuela, north of Caracas.
In 2018, the Russian military released a plan to deploy supersonic Tu-160 strategic bombers to the island.
According to Colonel Eduard Rodyukov, a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Military Sciences, in turn, told Nezavisimaya Gazeta that "the arrival of Russia’s Tu-160 strategic bombers to Central America is kind of a signal to Trump to make him realize that abandoning nuclear disarmament treaties will have a boomerang effect.

Anyway I still think common sense will demand the ships to be supplied from the east coast.

Or the US could just do what Russia already does; field weapons anyway and claim they're not covered by INF. It's all fun and games when you don't play by the rules but force the other guy to do so.

I'm excited by this, and not just because "Colombia" is spelled correctly. ;)
