I saw the historicalgamer's youtube. It definitely looks a little different. Didn't give too much detail on gameplay though.

Sounds a litle like the old sim can games. I really, really liked them.
Especially the battle of the atlantic. As commander of the german nay and uboat arm, you would send out your fleets and wolfpacks and await results.
Just a grid map was all you had. And as reports came in, it was updated. But thats all the info available.
It was very good. And very basic. And I think, most found it too boring.
Their falklands wargame and Harpoon type games was very similar. And ones i have never seen bettered.

I am interested in the game and will probably purchase it after it is released. Thanks for letting us know about it.

However, the developers should brush up on the radio protocol for that period. Its misuse is glaring in the video.

This looks very promising!
If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?

Playing the alpha I'm not sure how much of it is a wargames or is it more a kind of interactive novel.

I was once shown a design document for an extremely realistic sim going along similar lines. It was a game I do wanted to see but I gather it was to much of a risk for those who could have seen this project through. I do hope this goes more along the warsim line than a novel/adventure type game

Yes, this. Bad for immersion. But the concept overall is very interesting.

It just might be that the dev dosent want to overwhelm anyone with the proper protocol of the time. Not everybody is educated in mil like protocol, but then this is also a "alpha", so who knows how the final product wil be in that regard.

Not stating, just a though...
