All setup. Forgot about the no infiltraters part till I was in deployment so I just didn't assign them and will use them as infintry. Later year then I normally play so this will be experimenting with unfamilar equipment :)

The orders are given to advance all across the from a .50 cal Jeep and a Grey hound move one hex and are kill instantly by German 88's

Everyone stops and smoke cover is put down, the US cammander curses himself for not putting down cover before the move:mad:

Geman 120mm's hit road junctions and suspected assembly areas, then US arty does what they do best counter battey fire, one ammo truck and a German arty transport die and a few casualties in the mortar crews

Cursed US artillery , if only we could target anywhere on the map that fast. Indeed damage reports come in from the mortor sections. Immediate move out orders are given and the remaining crews are packed up and begin moving to new positions. Thankfully most of the mortors where saved except a few whom refused to rally and unfortunity where there for the end of turn second round of US arty fire on those postions.

Scout forces roll foward. Some movement plans are altered due to the smoke screen but overall the US has provided us with the cover we had planned to lay down :)

Recon forces meet and engage a 3inch AT gun killing some of it's crew. US 30 cal jeeps are bloody everywhere.

German forces secure the southern and center Vhexs for the time being. Norther Vhexs are guarded atm by a US jeep and recon squad, they will be delt with next turn if they persist on being there.

Overall this is going to be a difficult fight for us. The US has aparently brought every artillery piece known to man and judging by the souther recon a healthy supply of jeeps and AT guns. No signs of US tanks as yet but we expect to not see them till they are shooting at something.

The German's have brought lots of MC's to the fight as well as 88's orders are given to hunt the MCs first the process has started several MC's getting wiped out this turn

Well a couple US jeeps won't be returning home. Amusingly the tiger I sent after one , you kinda have ot picture it. Jeep surrounded by smoke then all of a sudden a tiger comes roaring threw it at point blank range. The jeep actualy ran the moment the tiger apeared. To no avail thow as the tiger hunted it down and destroyed it and the recond squad it carried.

Little to report on the rest of the map. A MC squad gets some revenge on one of those miserable car thingies with the guns that shot at it last turn.

Besides that the vast majority of the german forces are spending their time ducking from constant bombardment. We must remember next time to allocate 50% of our forces to artillery like they apparently have. Either that or not bother with infinatry or AT guns as the moment viking sees them they are pounded in an instant regarless of where they are. Admittidly it is incredably frustrating. Next time a 10% limit on arty or indirect firing "I'm not artillery I'm a 60mm jeep".

I give up. There is no point in fighting this fight. Your artillery can target anything anywhere instantly. I am not used to fighting the US and this I have to admit seems rediculous. I can only hit stuff that fast if they happen to be near one of my pretargeted stuff. You meanwhile can unload your entire ordances on a non spotted spot anywhere on the map instantly as shown with you crippling my artillery before I even had a turn. If this is what it's like to fight the US I can say this will probly be my last battle against them. Either it's my nievity that I don't know how ot bring artillery to bare anywhere instantly or imho the US is unbalanced. (I realize we don't play war games for "balance" but there is just no fun in fighting something you can't even move without being anhilated without being able to react).

If you are playing the US and a using 7.1 never never never fire your arty at the end of your turn set it to land at the end of the other players turn. Unless you place fake smoke signatures in your back field. You invite a counter battery fire.

You are the Germans there is a reason why you don't see my tanks yet its because I can't kill them head on so I have to suppress them and attack from the side's. You have 88's in overwatch some this is difficult, ie your strengths, accurate long ranged killing power with high experience

The US is strong and can be beaten you just have to vary your tactics if you wish to switch sides where you get the US that will be fine. Quiting a couple of turns into a game ( were you haven't even lost a tank or a infantry squad yet) will neve allow you to improve on your tactics. The tactics I have learnd have come from the losing end and just playing a hell of allot of games

As I said it is not a lack of desire to adapt to new tactics. I just find it no fun to play in a game where everything can be pomeled anywhere instantly by artillery. Nor do I have any desire to play the US. It's just a personal prefrence thing.

It is unrealistic to me that a tank traveling at speed could be targeted by indirect firing artillery like it was standing still. It might be bad form to quit a game a couple turns in but I have no desire to sit and watch as half my army turns and runs away because of constant fire from your artillery. And if the US can field that much artillery on about 600 points I am literaly in shock. Unless you have a different defenitiion of artillery then I do.

Two batteries of 81mm 180 pts apiece ( high suppression provided occasionally will kill a tank aand soft vehical, this is what if considered my heavy arty, German 81mm are ruffly the same price and actually preforme a little better)

two batteires off board 75mm 80 pts apeice (frie lots of rounds cover a large area will rearly kill only suppress)

150 pts worth of 60mm jeeps and single tube 60mm thats what I bougth( I bought them for smoke purposes and suppression, specificlly I was planning on useing them the slow down and suppress you MC's and 88's )

I only hit what I saw, and or smoke trails of your arty, you didn't fire smoke once and you ranges on your 88's where very long and they gave them selfs away by shooting at my Jeeps. If you fire your arty at the end of my turn and then move your arty in your turn. Then you end up tricking the US player to fire on your smoke trails, I do it all the time, this does two things for you keeps you troops and tanks from being hit and was the other players arty. In our rather short game your arty was quite effective you had suppressed most of my units in the center and put up quite a large volume of fire

If you want to play a German on German game then fine I'm up for that or a Germany vs UK game

Don't get me wrong I wan't meaning you slighted me or anything , nor was I meaning to infer you where lying about the 10%. I have never played US and was unfamiliar with the cost and could only judge by the constant and seemingly supireor number of rounds fired. Still I feel the instant fire from US arty anywhere is simply to much.

I would certainly be interested in a germany vs uk (me germany). Or even in germ vs germ as I have never done that before. Name your terms good sir and set it up and we shall continue this contest.
