US plays 22 gear up (finally, seems like this takes forever but maybe it only seems that way when you are playing USA)
It always feels like that when I play USA. [:D]

However, when I play Japan I feel like it arrives way to fast. [:'(]

Actually, this game has had gear up much later than most that I have played.
I thought I knew how to play this game....

In MWiF, with Germany and the USSR not taking away physical chits as they do in the table-top game, the USA does tend to get slightly higher entry, IIRC. If entry was the bottleneck, then I'd say in this particular game it was pretty late for MWiF.

However, if tension is the bottleneck, both versions of the game behave the same - you just can't get your gear-ups off until you have the tension. If tension was holding up option 22 in this particular game, then it's annoying for the US player but not appreciably late.

During 1941 Barbarossa

with unlimited pool compared to table-top game

Code: Select all

US Entry option			Avrage Turn
 Resources to western Allies	1940 Jan\Feb to 1940 Mar\Apr
 Gear up production		1941 Mar\Apr
 Oil Embargo			1941 Jul\Aug
 Pass War Appropriations Bill	1941 Sep\Oct
 Full war			1942 May\Jun

So gear up is only one turn late.

Axis: pls have a look at CW prod. The res from Rhodesia should be shipped to England through BoB and 1 res going through BoB should be going through FG instead of BoB. So I think CW prod should be at 22 instead of 21. If someone wants to play around to try to fix this pls go ahead. I spent a few minutes but was unable to get it working correctly.
Taking a look at it now.

One of the resources shipped from USA was the offender. Once this route was fixed the program shipped the Rhodesia resource automatically.

41 MJ EOT instructions for allies. We continue to have a problem with CW production but I'll "fix" it at build time by adding 1 CW BP.

Kudos to Axis for a great job on mideast over the last turn or 2 - amazing stuff. Also nice job as always with Axis EOT - easy to follow and never a mistake. Apparently this is Scandinavian precision at work. :) If I were writing my EOT for someone else to execute then I'm sure there would be mistakes and questions.

First I'll list SU & FF:
Production prelim
USSR produces 25 BPs and saves 8 oil (4 Archangel, 4 Stalinsk)

SAS: FR SUB SAS

Oil use
USSR reorg all for 2,3 oil (2 Persian oil recourses that cannot be saved).
FF reorg sub for free.

Scrap
USSR: LND3

Production
USSR 25
FTR2
INF HQ
MIL x6
INF x2

Reinforcements
Pilot to Mig-3

2x INF to Smolensk
FTR2 to Gomel
MECH and AT gun to Gomel

ComChi INF to Sian

Remove pilots from 3 bombers in east (TB-3 [the one with 2 a2a factors], IL-4 and Pe-8)

Now for CW/US/CH:
SAS: cruisers in FG
cruisers CSV
cruisers CVB
cruiser CA
cruisers NAtl
cruisers USEC
cruiser Carib
cruiser GoG
1 cp Arabian Sea is set to RTB

RTB:
US cp's go to various ports in pacific (san diego, pearl, pago pago)
CW TRS with Sydney MIL -> Capetown
CA+CV -> Aden
2xCV+2xBB -> Capetown
various ships to plymouth (mainly) and liverpool (fewer)
Netherlands TRS to Liverpool

Oil:
CW reorg all for 5.1 using saved oil in canada - finally the CW oil situation is ok again.
US use .45 oil to reorg 2xTRS, 5xcp

prod final:
CH: 2
CW: 22
FF: 0
US: 20
SU: 25

scrap: CW Hurricane 5 strength 3 range FTR scrapped

builds:
CH 2: CAV
CW 22: INF,MIL,2xPIL,TRS4[fu],CV2[fu],BB2[fu],2xFTR2,cvp1
US 20: BB5[fu],BB4[fu],SUB1[fd],PIL,INF,TRS2[fd],cvp1,save2

reinf:
CW: RSA Hurricane->Capetown
Spitfire VB -> Liverpool
Hurricane IIB->London
cvp swordfish -> Liverpool
remove nimrod cvp from liverpool
US: 10 cp Norfolk

lending:
CW increase to 2 res to SU

init: Axis wins and moves first.
Weather roll 9 (storm in n monsoon all other fine)

No strategic bombing.

One CVP1 (2 in tactical strength) ground strikes the Vladivostok defenders.

The German LND3 (3 in strength) in Jaffa bomb the Suez defenders in hex 82,60.

Germany rail one GARR from Calais to Frederikshavn.

Land movement:

Germany moves almost all units on the Eastern front.

In addition;
- Relocate, and strengthen, the garrison in Denmark.
- Move a few units in France, Belgium, and Netherlands.
- One INF moves southwards from Munich into Italy.
- One Finnish INF move to the Rybachi Peninsula.
- The railway to Leningrad is cut by ZOC.
- Finnish forces move into Viborg.
- One INF advance along the coast towards Damietta.
- The Palestinian TERR advance into the Sinai desert.

Over to Italy, and Japan, for their land movement.
