newbie allied air morale

Post by tonyscrase »

hI

Sorry yet another question
I am playing the campaign and I have set the air groups to fly 4 out of 7 days at normal intensity and normal priority. The axis are roughly losing the same number of planes as the allies
I have been resting air groups who have a morale under 40 but this can be anything from 2,000 to 4,000 aircraft

Am I doing something wrong !!

THANK YOU

well personally I set the morale cut off pt as about 60 in marginal weather and 50 in good. So I'd say you are flying stuff that is best rested. Even with the Soviets, I try not to use <50 morale formations.

But overall, low morale is the main reason that the allied air offensive slows. As an axis player, I'll try to max the morale damage (outright kills being less important).

Remember its damaged planes that are driving down your morale, so losses as such are not really the issue.

So with the allies basically you are trading lost morale for damage inflicted.

What matters is both sides of that relationship.

Tony,

I agree with what Loki said. I use 55 points for the Allies as a cutoff. I fly bombers only three times per week, either 2/4/6 or 3/5/7 (that way the German AS missions have to fly every day). I fly the FB's four times a week if flak is light (you can see low and high-level flak intensity by pressing Shift-o twice, and a third time to turn it off). Three times a week if flak is heavier.
