Weird shifting of units when scrolling to the edge

Post by Christolos »

As per the image below, the US units shift from their correct positions (as shown on the left) out to the left when scrolling to edge of the map as shown on the right:

I've seen the same thing. It's called the San Andreas Fault. The USA map at Californication shifts the units to the West. San Diego is the first to see this. Only get versus the AI.

Hi Christolos,

This is an old error that I'd like to resolve but at the moment I can't seem to be able to repeat it. Do you have some steps on how to get it to repeat with consistency?

Thanks,
Hubert

Hubert, go to the Southern Pac off of Mexico coast, but scroll left so the map moves west and the Mex. coast disappears from view, then move back and take your cursor all the way to south of the Gulf of California into the right map edge around the "To Mexico City" loop hex.

You should see the offset on both the lower zoom levels.

Oh yeah, after creating the anomaly, move your cursor North, then back South and you'll see another different map skew.

Also noticed that my mouse cursor will disappear on the right or the bottom of the map, but not on the left or top side.

The USA Pacific coast map shift seems to happen after the cursor disappears and then returns from the right side of the screen.

This shift also still occurs in WiE when I hit the right side of the screen [with v 1.15].

I still can't seem to be able to repeat it, despite seeing it in the past on my end. Can you tell me the resolution you are playing at?

I only saw it on the initial version of software, what's that 1.00, and we're on 1.02. That was against the AI. Have not seen it since. I'm using a el cheap-o computer out of a cereal box,

Hi Hubert,

As James Taylor mentioned in Post #:4 of this thread, it happens when I scroll back a few hexes (2 or 3) to the left after having scrolled completely to the right as far as one can go, i.e., right to the edge.

Thanks,

C

Thanks gentlemen and you'll have to let me know if it still happens with the next build as I simply can no longer repeat it on my end now no matter what resolution I try and combination of settings. I'm hoping it has been fixed as a result.
