I'm with Mike. You need more divisions there. You need to account for the fact that even though you're killing Chinese units, they're going to respawn in 30 (?) days at 1/3 strength (and no disabled devices among that 1/3).

My top plane r&d factories:

1. Frank several are 27 repaired 3 broken
2. Sam
3. Kikka
4. Randy B
5. Grace
6. Patsy
7. Ki115a
8. Frances S (NF)
9. Judy

Fully repaired:
Tojo has 2 factories size 30 working on getting IIC; Jack has 3 30, George 2 30, A6M8 2 size 30.

Nothing else has more than 1 size 30 working on it.

In hindsight, I kind of wished I put all those Jack and George squadrons into Sam instead which would have made it number 1.

Chungking is being devastated. Allies are night bombing now in the central Chungking plains.

Elsewhere: 2nd Division lands safely at Colombo. Other reinforcements make Koggla, so I think Ceylon is safe for now.

Chungking...

Allies back to night bombing, lost several fighters to it. In december I get the best non night fighter there is, the Dinah fighter. Plan on making a 1-3 squadrons of them.

Seems to me the Americans have given up trying to defend Adak.

When the Chinese are standing shoulder to shoulder in the trenchs around Chungking they do die easily in artillery attacks.

Allies surge 2 destroyers and a SC forward, we sink one DD and Jakes sink the SC.

Ceylon all quiet, splash some sweeping Hurricanes over Cox's on the Burma front.

The Chungking bombardment. In addition Nicks and Oscars are bombing. Took the last of the three cities west of Changsha today, and all join the Empire with undamaged factories.

A day before the Chungking attack, the AV was listed at over 5300 for the Chinese.

Ground combat at Chungking (76,45)

Japanese Bombardment attack

Attacking force 9642 troops, 698 guns, 616 vehicles, Assault Value = 1628

Defending force 244208 troops, 405 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 4145

Allied ground losses:
1830 casualties reported
Squads: 104 destroyed, 19 disabled
Non Combat: 16 destroyed, 0 disabled

A bit gamey, upgrading some tank regiments at Neikiang while the infantry rests and sips sake.

They are starving which causes the initial disablement, and the attack & aerial bombing make more disabled, and then the heavy artillery kills.

Never have I amassed such a concentration of artillery.

I don't know. I was just thinking the same thing. I mean, what is more gamey than the Japanese being able to take all of China and have no Chinese troops in China at all?

If you did just keep it up, as units respawned it would probably get to some kind of equilibrium. Right now it looks like 15-20 VPs a day (assuming you aren't losing any devices). Imagine if it settled down to even 10 VPs a day. Those are permanent, and at 300/month, 3,600/year, and several years to go. It would be much more lucrative for the end game to just sit and keep bombarding.

Of course you'd then never get the Chungking industry and yo'd be using a lot of supply to keep bombarding and bombing for years. Something to ponder though. Or, and this is a really interesting idea, but I think you've already taken it. Keep this up for a good long while until troops are ready to capitulate. Take Chungking, but let them have Chegtu to respawn in and start over there with a bombardment routine. [;)]

It should be more than that a day since hunger also plays a part.

Lowpe, can you share the recent history of Allied LCU points lost? There is no significant fighting going to meddle with CK stats apart from occasional Aleutean slaughter, and the latter can be filtered out. It is really interesting what kind of stream of VPs CK bombardment gets you

That's a huge supply and opportunity cost investment, though, as you mention. The Chinese units that respawn, assuming about 500 devices, are only worth about 40 additional VPs. I'd rather have the base and gamble that I keep it for long enough for the huge base VPs to matter.

And be able to use that artillery elsewhere.

The supply and opportunity costs are simply too high to attempt to farm Chinese troops losses and respawns.
