How can I pass my maps .bmp to .mpp. Because the game editor only handles .mpp. [&:]

Hi Chinchin.

The "* .map" boards have the graphic characteristics, the topographic properties, and also the elements that define the scenario (participating units, their deployment, victory hexes, etc.)

The "* .mpp" boards have the graphic characteristics and the topographic properties. These files are those used to make scenarios with more than one board.

Converting a file "* .map" into another "* .mpp" is simple.

1.- Make a copy of the file "* .map" that you want to transform into another "* .map"

2.- Change the extension of the newly copied file from ".map" to ".mpp"

3.- Windows will warn you that some properties of the changed file will be lost (those properties that define the participating units, their deployment, victory hexes, etc.)

4.- Accept the change of properties

You already have the file "* .mpp" which is the same as the one you had ("* .map") but without those properties that define the participating units, their deployment, victory hexes, etc., which is precisely what you are interested.

Easy....

Hi asl3d,

I did not explain very well.

I want to make a new map, I edit it with Paint and I save it in BMP format, I copy it in LnLHoS/art/maps. Then I save that same map in MAP format, and I copy it in LnLHoS/maps. Always with the same name. But when I load it in the editor I get the empty map.

Well, I think I understand you.

Step 1 you do it well. That is, you draw the board with Paint (I assume you respect the dimensions of the HoS boards), and then save them in LnL/HoS/art/maps.

The second step is the one that I did not see well. That is, the "* .map" file is generated by the editor, not by you. What you have to do first is to give the board its topographic properties using the editor. When you have finished you save it and the AI automatically generates the file "* .map".

There is a great tutorial published by Mark Walker that can surely help you.

I enclose it in ZIP format

Buf!, It can not be that difficult. Something is missing or I'm very clumsy.

I already have my map drawn and I put it in: LnLHoS/art/maps/MyMap.bmp

In When I'm in the editor, I give Ctrl-L, but it does not allow me to load MyMap.bmp, since it only allows loading .map files. How do I load a .bmp file in the editor?

Hello Chinchin.

I forgot to tell you that the procedure to be performed is explained by Mark Walter on the last page. Apologies.

I'm glad that everything is going well now. Come on!

I can not download it. I think you have to upload it without marking "Embed picture in post"

I have the Maitrebongo template, but the hexagonal network does not have the 1925x1237 measures of the game's maps.

OK Chinchin.
You have right now the file that you want in the thread “Heroes and Leaders mod Documents,” in the post # 1:

tm.asp?m=4415998

Only you need download the "Documents" ZIP pack. His name is "HaL framework hexes and dots" and is a file BMP format (12 Mb).
