Sicily. Sicily has devolved into a stalemate with current battlelines reminiscent of the trench warfare in the first world war.

Turn 15. Jan/Feb 1942. Allied #10.

Actions. Free France - naval, China - land, Great Britain - land, USA - pass, USSR - land.

RAF. Naval Air. The RAF uses a bit of gamesmanship in flying the Indian fighter group out into the Red Sea, which will allow the fighter group to return to base later in, or at the end of, the turn into Egypt. Where's the gamesmanship? The Indian fighter group, which was allowed by the Sundanese to base in Sudan, didn't have the range to fly from Aden to Egypt during a rebase phase. They can only achieve this by the naval air/return to base strategy they're currently employing.

Turn 15. Jan/Feb 1942. Allied #10.

Great Britain. Sicilian Assault Wargaming. British war planners, even with the full bombardment support of the RN battleships operating off the Italian Coast, estimate that an assault on Palermo has an estimated 36.8% chance of succeeding (which is slightly better than 1 out of 3). Worse, they estimate a 5.9% chance that the Brits would have to lose 3 units. Again, this sort of loss would threaten Great Britain's chances of remaining ashore in Sicily. So no assault attempt (again) this impulse.

RN. Ground Strike. Ajaccio, Corsica. Missed, but only a 10% of hitting to begin with.
