Guards tank division

I had guards tank division and was degraded to brigade. I thought once it is guard it will stay as division and won't turn to brigade. Did I live in mistake?

Gotta say I've never had the pleasure/displeasue to allow that to happen!

It flipped to guard on 1.1.42 and to brigade next turn(8.1.42) with some 11 victories(mostly from chasing Romanians around the map during the first Blizzard month.

All Soviet TDs will downgrade to brigades sooner or later but they should retain a gained guards status.

If I recall I never had guard tank division before. So there is actually no point in trying to get them to guard if they will downgrade anyway.

Agreed, training your tanks in 41 can save you many months of extra training when corps become available
