Refuelling ships and docking facilities.

Hi,

I'd like to know if it's possible to refuel your ships such as destroyers or carriers with logistic ships ? And if it is, how can it be done ?

Secondly, does a docking facility/harbour/naval base exist for ships, where you could place ships, repair and refuel them and so on, like the single airfield unit ?

Yes you can refuel and rearm at sea by sailing the logistic ship and the ship to be resupplied on the same course & speed and in close proximity to one another.

No, I think that this is in the plan but not yet.

Has there been any progress on this? Few things worse than having my entire fleet out at sea because they can't dock into a port for R&R...or whatever.

there are piers that ships can dock at. While docked they can refuel and rearm if ammo they need is in the same group as the pier.

I tried to do this during a scenario editor at the Norwegian Northern naval base, Olavsvern. This facility has 3 extra large piers. When I tried to add a ship to the port, a message would say, "You cannot place ships on land." Either I am a scenario design idiot, or something is amiss.

select the unit with the pier - could be a group or just the pier, and then it is Editor >> Unit Actions >> Edit docked boats

When there's a pier you can choose "set homeport/base" for units too. Its realistic to order damaged ships to flee to naval base.

Hi,

I set up a test scenario and found that you don't actually need the weapons in land magazines to reload ships/submarines.

There's a setting similar to the unlimited ammunition for aircraft that also applies to vessels.

I'm pretty sure, anyway.

They also refuel, and without a fuel facility in the naval base (although I've added fuel facilities in all my naval bases for realism in the mega-scenario I'm building).
