CLAA not loading AA guns in port

I also posted this question in the Mods/ BTS-RA thread as I am currently in a Relutant Admiral 8.0 PBEM game vs trascott.

No opsec concerns as I have also alerted him to my concern.

I have a CLAA, undamaged, sitting in Singapore (level 9 port) with plenty of supply.
The 3rd and 4th AA guns will not reload.

Any thoughts or clues about what I should look for?
I am hesitant to tinker with a game data base with the editor.

It looks to me that the 3rd and 4th AA guns do not have any ammo set in the scenario data files. I would say it is a problem with the scenario file.

If it is in a TF, it is likely the ship used up all its OPS points refueling and rearming the guns that it did. Another day should complete the rearming.
If it is disbanded in port you must tell it to rearm using a right click on the "replenish ships in port" text on the port screen.

This is scenario 50.

I have a general question about this:
Do I mod Scenario 50 and the change will update the save game file at some point?

sorry, I haven't done any surgery like this before.

I don't know if Scenario 50 is locked to prevent being saved after changes like the first 25 files. If not, and you do make changes to the scenario, saving it as Scenario 50 will make it a different version of that Scenario which could bet confusing.
Most changes made after game start do NOT get carried into the save game file, but a few can. For example, you can modify the SPS of a base or give it some industry it did not have before and that will promulgate next time you start the game. Changes to warship configuration will only take place after the ship goes to port and disbands for refit/repair. You cannot use the editor to adjust damage or ammo/fuel supply on ships in the save game file.

It was in a task for, I docked it. Settings were for Full Refuel and I clicked Refuel from Port.
Nothing.

I disbanded the ship into Singers. There was 1 point of system damage at the time.
I clicked Repair mode so I was sure the AA was not damaged.
(next turns)
Ship is in complete repair, and able to be put into Task Force.
(beginning of the turn)
While in port I selected only CA/CL and clicked Reload all ships.
I got the message no ship was able to reload.
There isn't much going on at Singers (no reloads/unloads)
Singers has almost 300 Nav Support.

I did look at Slot 50 (RA 8.1) data base and those two AA guns have zero ammo.

My question now is how do I fix this in an on going game?
Do I mod Scenario 50 and the game will update later or do I modify the save game file in some manner?

Woooo.
I learned something today.

Thanks to you both for quick replies and to trascott for permission to modify the game file.

I DID go into Scenario 50 and change the ammo levels for those two AA guns to match the first two.

I DID save the game file as the same scenario (50).

I DID save and exit the current PBEM game (which I had open).

I DID reload the save game and was (1. alerted that the game database had changed / 2. asked if I wanted the changes to be made).

YAY.....
I now have a functioning CLAA with ammo.
Thanks again, love you guys who are quick to lend their advice.

If the ship configuration does not specify how much ammo belong with that gun, you must modify it by putting in the normal amount (magazine capacity) and save the scenario. Then save your game and exit.

Restart the game and choose your save game. As it loads you should get some text saying the scenario has changed, do you want to make the changes - select Yes.
Go to Singers and look at your CLAA - the ammo required should now reflect your changes and you can load the ammo.

Notify the creator of Scenario 50 of this oversight so that it can be fixed wherever that file is offered.

I did post in the BTS/RA thread and will update it.
