I was hoping to collect the Europa Series of war games but, having got all the Collector Series they brought out, the company appeared to go out of business - so sadly that never panned out [:(]

I don't think I collect anything as such but buy lots of books and listen to music all the time. I also buy war games from time to time.

I collect music CDs and LPs. I hate musicians due to having musician neighbours so I try to buy them used whenever possible.
Here is a list of albums I own.

I collect books. I ran out of shelf space this year. I collect mostly illustrated/hardcover editions, mangas, comic books, art albums and military history/science books.

I used to collect old games with boxes and manuals until getting seriously into Command Ops made me focus on modern games in 2013.
The end state of the collection:
Discworld 2
Alien Breed: Tower Assault
Fallout
Fallout 2
Icewind Dale
Baldur's Gate 2
Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter
Arcanum
Neverwinter Nights

Gunship (in 2009 - it was the first retrogame I bought intentionally, not a game that I bought soon after release)
Project Stealth Fighter
Silent Service
Wasteland (gatefold box but no manuals)
Pool of Radiance
Laser Squad
Syndicate
Patriot
Fire-Brigade
Hero Quest
Space Crusade
Darklands
Seal Team (reedition box)
Ultima V (lacks a few manuals)
Dreadnoughts Plus (reedition box)
Armada
Waterloo
Austerlitz
Solo Flight
War in Middle Earth (the last one bought in 2012 just before my life collapsed and I couldn't afford to continue buying old games. Year later I seriously got into Command Ops which I bought in 2011 and it sort of eclipsed all the old games for me.)

I used to collect music, books and games. However, I seem to mostly collect illnesses these days.

Damn, I'm not sure if this is a joke or not, but this is the funniest thing I've read in a while.
If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?

At my age (72), I collect a lot of flies. Also I collect Corvettes, such as a 60, 62, 64 47, 86, 2006 and a 2009 Z06. My property collects a lot of leaves and pine needles/pollen. Someday, the flies will reign supreme.

Apart the obviously books (reading now "The German Way of War: From the Thirty Years' War to the Third Reich") and games (waiting "PzC Japan45", "Rule the Waves 2" and very excited with "Fantasy General II" and interested in "Armored Brigade" DLC) i started buying watches.

I started buying a Casio G-Shock 5600HR because i go now to the gym (time to move my fat body) but searching info about what G-Shock buy i find again post about Vostok Amphibia´s and part they are cheap and have a good reputation i buy one as a gift for me... and add later the modernized version of the classic one, the new Anfibia, it cost more but doesnt look totally like a 70s watch.

Classic amphibia

Modernized version

And i have in mind add another watch from the mother Russia... a K-39 or a Red Sea.

I am very surprised and glad with the amphibia classic quality, the only negative points are lumen and the use of acrilic instead saphire (but the design of amphibias is based on the glass type, i recomend you read about how soviets solved the problem related with water pressure... they find the elegant solution while in west use the brute force solution... totally oposite when you expect a solution for a problem from east VS west)... but apart this very good diver.
