Possible bug: one-way LOS

Post by UP844 »

Why does the game report the T-34 (red arrow) is out of my hull facing?

The same warning also appeared when I attempted firing at the other highlighted (i.e. in LOS) Russian units (yellow arrows).

I supposed the issue might be related to the presence of non-playable hexes, but this does not appear to affect the other Stug (green arrow), which fired at the T-34 without any warning appearing.

In the subsequent Russian fire segment, the T-34 fired at the StuG that could not fire at it, kept ROF...

... and with its second shot destroyed the StuG.

Is there some reason I fail to see for this one-way LOS?

In the end, even the one-way LOS didn't prevent the AI from suffering the usual bloodbath and another Major Victory [>:] [>:] [>:]

Search rather in the t-34s entrenched on the hill.

I only would like to know why the game tells me the T-34 and all other possible targets, which are highlighted as if they were visibile, are out of my hull facing.

Non-Playable hex is not a terrain type (like say for example: Woods, Brush, Clear, Water etc...) and it should not be used in such way.

In this case, it is the angle of the t-34 on the hill that is problematic. the German tank below can not have it in its line of sight following the hex where it is while the t-34 can shoot him.

I think you are missing the point altogether.

Please look at the image I posted in the opening post. The StuG has a LOS at the T-34, at the radio-equipped stack and at the Russian AT Gun (they are all highlighted) but when I attempted firing the message I get is "Target outside Hull facing", even though all of them lie in the StuG VCA.

At the same time, the other StuG, with a LOS/LOF that also crosses a single non-playable hex, fired at the T-34 without any issue (it only managed to immobilise it before being destroyed, but... c'est la guerre [:D])

Doesn't this sound weird to you?
