GD 1938 crashing

Post by AstroBlues »

My Allied player in GD1938 tries to get his Britain faction done and the game keeps crashing. He has gotten his game off of steam. When I try to save my game when I do the Axis, I get two messages. One is the game is being saved, and the other(which I never had before) states that:"The game is being saved on Matrix ATG." Would my messages be the problem?

What version of ATG are you running. Versions earlier than 228 had a problem with crashing...although your messages are not what I was getting. I am not using the Steam version so I don't have a problem updating to the latest version Vic has "released" outside of Steam. When you end a turn there is an autosave game that you can reload and try again to increment & save the next players turn. But you don't get a message saying that it is being saved. What message does the Allied player get when the game crashes? Plus what version is he playing? Maybe someone who got the game off steam can tell him how to update to the latest version (228)...a how to start the "non-Steam" version.

Not sure what the last version of ATG is on steam, but it shouldn't be a problem, cause that version had that issue fixed. And no it's not 228 cause that is still in test mode. More likely 227...

The Allied player says that all his other ATG games run smoothly. It is just with GD1938. He says that the error message is "Out of memory exception." He cannot do Britain's turn. He is running ATG vs. 227. He also says the autosave is corrupt.

Sounds like he needs to wait for 228 to become official. Someone page Vic about that :) ;)

Note that I read this.

Probably the Steam public beta will fix this issue with GD.

The player in question has bought the ATG off of Matrix games. Would there be any update thru Matrix? I thought he got it off steam. My apologies.

You can still be playing on steam even if you bought it here as I recall.
Favoritism is alive and well here.

My Allied player installed the update. When it is his turn will see if it works. Fingers crossed.
