Comment About Experience

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Comment About Experience

Post by canuckgamer »

I picked this up a couple of weeks ago and did play the original SC series many years ago. I assume that the five crosses on German units is there to indicate the unit's experience so that if one cross is highlight it means that unit has "1" experience.
I looked at the scenario starting in summer 1941 with the Axis invading Russia and was surprised that most of the German units had zero experience, even the panzers unless I am reading the indicator wrong. I say surprised because after the German's string of victories up to that point in the war you would think their units would have all sorts of experience but maybe SC WIE doesn't carry that experience over to the next scenario.

Hi

I've checked in the campaign and all the Panzers and most German units do start with some experience. Given the fairly easy campaigns the army had had prior to then in Poland, France and the Balkans, and the expansion of the army, giving them too much wouldn't be right and it could imbalance the campaign.
