Scenario 2 Iraqi AB in Jordan? Cairo belongs to Iran?

Are these things correct? I don’t think Cairo being on Iran’s side matters, but is there supposed to be an Iraqi airbase in Jordan?

Chris,

Historically, you are correct. Obviously, Cairo belongs to Egypt not Iran. However, for simplicity it was put on the same side to facilitate shuttle aircraft missions between Iran, Iraq and Egypt. Iran is considered neutral by the Coalition so it does not represent a problem except for historical purists. It could have been done in a couple of other ways but that is what I chose at the time.

Also, historically, Al-Azraq AB belongs to Jordan, not Iraq. But there is some basis that at least early on Jordan was sympathetic with Iraq and allowed them to base aircraft there. I chose not to have Jordan as a separate side to reduce the size of the scenario. Again, from the Coalition's perspective it should make little difference in this scenario.

As with several "what if" provisions, I hope it does not overly detract from game play.

Ok that all makes a lot of sense. I like the way you designed scenario 1, I’m looking forward to this one as well.
