He has had a large # of defensive reserve activations.

t 56 THE 3 PEET

Post by BrianG »

It is not fun when the Russians get Guard Infantry Corp defensive reserve activation.

Everyone gets very annoyed and starts to question authority.

This 10th Infantry Guards Rifle Corp is very annoying.

And leadership is now in question.

Russians aptly switch defense reserve to another Guards Rifle Corp. I guess the 10th Rifle ran out of mp's.

3 in a row but

Germans win. Yeah

t56 Russians defensive line spotted

Post by BrianG »

I have run into a brick wall of entrenched Guards Rifle Corp's.

There is now no way to break thru without substantial reinforcement from the north

I see the third one only had Me 210A-1s as fighters - were they set to Fighter or Bomber mission? I assume the former and you allowed the AI to select the fighter escort? If so I sympathise. The AI has a really bad habit of choosing fresh twin engine fighter bombers as fighter escort over 109s that are closer and much better but might only have 1 point of fatigue more. The Me 210A-1 really cannot act in that role in 1942 against modern Soviet types. At the start of every turn I switch the Me210A-1 to an air range of one so the AI will never use them to avoid this sort of incident. I will only switch them to a combat air range in my turn if/when I will manually decide on which air missions they go on. Or switch them to bomber mission only.

You are playing non alt-cv . Those guards require panzers with SU’s and HQ with 210mm and some rockets to move . In my game one Panzer Army moves the first unit and a second opens the breech. I find many Soviet reserves are committed and a need for a CV cushion. Wash rinse repeat until the Soft underbelly is exposed. It would be interesting to know the Soviet Manpower at this point?

I would guess the soviets are low on manpower but have a good sized and trained army since they maintained both Leningrad and Moscow....the issues is when the soviets lose both it pretty much cripples soviet manpower for 1942...if they keep both like in this game it will probably lead to an early soviet march into Berlin esp with how good HLYA is at attrition and managing the air war.

Will probably take until late 1943 for the soviets to fill up on manpower and have a surplus if they don't take any major encirclements.

fighters. I don't change base settings.

My fighter corp is a mess. I have 4 or 5 large air units with almost no or very low fighters and barely any in the pool to change them into.

This German player will certainly NOT be bulldozing thru major Russian entrenched positions. Besides I will not have the leisure nor time to properly build such a good armor concentration.

I will go around.

most your KIA were probably Axis allied in that attack..considering they probably had lower EXP/morale than the soviet guard division you attacked.
