Airfield expansion

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Airfield expansion

Post by Mac Linehan »

Gents -

Torch to Tunisia scenario as Allies. Have set Constantine Air Base to expand to level 2, with the 175th US Engineer GS Regiment (attached to the city) providing 28 construction points. Have been stuck at 1 percent expansion for three turns with 17294 supplies on hand, priority 2. Am on turn 7 ground movement.

My understanding is that engineer / labor construction points are needed to expand an airbase.

Am I on track?

Thank You for your help.

Mac,

Is Constantine on a repaired rail line and is it getting supplies? What is the weather like (winter is bad for construction)?

Hi cfulbright!

Yes to your questions above and "ground: clear Air: rain Water 1". Now on turn 8, Constantine shows 83% progress towards a level 2 airfield. The climate did change for the better, I think that I did not give my hard working engineers enough time to get started.

Thank You, Sir!
