Air Rebase:

Germany:
FTR3 (47,45) -> 48,35
FTR2 (49,45) -> Hamburg

Reorganization:

German ATR3 fly to the INF (5-4) on the Danish border. CW can intercept it with their Nimrod CVP0. Germany has 1 FTR2, and 1 FTR3, on standby for counter-interception.

Will CW intercept the German ATR with their CVP0?

No intercept.

The German ATR reorganize the INF on the Danish border. Then it lands in Dusseldorf.

No other reorganization.

I have had a truly crazy air battle flying that exact mission in a solitaire game. Ju-52 tries to re-org land unit on Danish border. Fleet Air Arm intercepts. Luftwaffe escorts with FTR3. Whole weird battle happened at night. Lots of air combat rules to distill. I know you fine folks are playing without most Night Missions, which is wise, but I figured an air-resupply inside a major power home country could have gotten done just fine in reality (actually fresh troop/supply reinforcements/replacements would happen without the Luftwaffe at all, inside Germany, just as the war started). Some of the other aspects of what can happen in some of the rule interactions was plenty strange though.

True.

I think a new house rule could fix some parts of that:
ITPOEMPHCC (In The Pressence Of Enemy Major Power Home Country Cities)
Each city hex in a Enemy Major Power Home Country cost 2 mp for hostile air units to enter.

Allies makes a strategic bombing mission against Germany, targeting Hanover with a LND3 from London.
The bomber pays 1 mp for each sea hex, entering the costal hex close to Hanover cost 1mp and 1mp for clear hex next to the Hanover and finaly 2 mp for the city.

I mean, it is too easy to generally do air missions in the area that the enemy most attempted to defend.
During World War II, most parties concentrated on keeping their home territory hard defended.
Most listening stations, radar stations, air defense guns, interceptors, air balloons, search lights, etc.
Was concentrated on home territory near major cities.
But MWIF does make its as easy to do a mission over Enemy Major Power Home Country cities as it is to strike any random desert hex in North Africa
(That in realty almost had no air defense at all).
That a CVP intercepts: a enmemy resupply mission over home country city, passing only over friendly hexes,
could have happened during WWII but it very unlikely. IMHO.

The thought with a house rule. Its to make mission overy Enemy Major Power Home Country Cities more difficult(like in relaity)

For me, a house rule are for spicing up the game and make it more fun. Not to break any thing or make it too complicated.

I'm not sure I follow you there.

What I thought was too weird to see happen again was letting a CV Fighter intercept at night - for one.

Simply taking Night Missions out of the game is a simpler, but brute force solution. That is how the new version 8 rules work.

But the Allied Paras at Normandy definitely landed at night. And I think German air re-supply into Stalingrad was done at night as well, not positive.

The bigger problem was back before Fractional Odds, when a single point of Ground Support could change an odds column. The Russians were infamous for flying a pre-war plane at night to do that. (A bit historical, but that was a nuisance type operation, not all that significant in game terms).

Also allowing a CV to intercept air missions not even directed against their own side's units is a little overly omniscient as well, in my opinion.

I think ultimately, in my House I would Rule that ATR missions of any type can still proceed at night - but can not be intercepted over an enemy hex. Other FTR units could only intercept such in a friendly ZoC.

Strange little sub-topic in an already complex game.

By 1944, the US was routinely doing night carrier air missions. The night strike at Truk during operation Hailstorm inflicted about one third the tonnage sunk, even though there were about twenty times as many sorties during the day.

Japanese night air attacks sunk USS Chicago and damaged USS Intrepid.
I thought I knew how to play this game....

USSR declares war on Persia.

Will you align it with Japan and place CAV to capital or do something else?

And Japan hoped for fine weather in the South. Looks like neither of us got what we wanted. [:)]

The German forces find the French cruisers (Axis 4, Allies 8).

Germany select naval air. And the CA Tourville suffer the first result, a D.
