CSV Calculator Reporting Tool

Post by Zovs »

I saw somewhere (and can't locate it now) a calculator. I believe you can take the csv files that are generated and feed them into this thing and it kicks out some kind of a report. I vaguely remember that it used to be available for COW or TOAW III.

I thought I read that the old one for III worked for IV.

So any links/clarifications thank you (I believe I saw it when reading through all the stuff Larry posts).

Note to new fellows or those coming back you can learn a lot from Larry's AAR's (and some of the hints Bob put in his articles).

Anyway I got two PBEM going and 4 solos going..lol.

Still only a 2 game man (Steel Panthers MBT/WW2 and TOAW IV).

I've got a sort of combat viewer project that's not finished but it's useful the way it is. It takes a CSV file as input and spits out a file that you can name what you want but the image below shows the test.html file that was output just now using a CSV file from my game with Matt. Recently. It works with TOAW IV. You are welcome to download it and play with it but I'm not liable for anything at all. Please feel free to modify the program as much as you want. Unfortunately, my computer crashed and took all my source code with it. It's written in C++ ( Borland's compiler ). You can find the executable and what files I have left here:

EDIT: The first link was a malware site so moved the upload to a different file server:
EDIT: I reuploaded the file viewer file to a file server on 7/21/2019 and the link should be good for about 30 days.

Thanks Larry, that is what I was looking for.

However, I can't seem to download it from that zippy share thing, it's keeps trying to install some kind of software and the download won't start.

Let me move it to a different file server. I'll edit the post above when I find one that works.

Ok. I edited the link and it's on a different file server now. I think the first link was a known malware site that Chrome warned me about. We both may want to scan for viri. The new site is found in the second post from the top on this page.

Let me know if you have any problems with it. (1) the input file must be a product of TOAW ( which is a true CSV file except that the column headers are missing ) and the output file MUST be an HTML file. The kind of file your web browser displays. There's a status line at the bottom of the app that is supposed to guide you along through the steps to provide the input file name and the output file name and about 1/10th of a second later your output file is ready for viewing. It's usually found in the same folder as the executable but actually you can write it where you'd like with the name you'd like as long as it's a web browser file ( HTML ).

Larry, will do. Currently running and saving my logs for Sicily to Brenner Pass. Love that scenario.
