Game Options Preferences Preset - Question

Post by Zovs »

So per the manual the Game Options Preferences Preset shows that you can select on/off various advance rules.

But with .21 you'll see these:

So in this particual instance I just left the screen as above and this is what I seen when I start up the game:

So I just need a little clarification on that, it's slightly confusing. If the game functioned as per the manual I would not be asking, but since I don't see a way to select or deselect I am not sure what it's intending or doing?

Chalk it up to dumb question #10

The scenario designer made the "command & control" "ON" by default and you have a chance right now to change it to "OFF" if you'd like. It's like that for all the lines that have checkboxes for you to reverse the default. Just check the box next to the thing you'd like to reverse.

Thanks Larry, I normally have my settings like the second screenshot above, so I am assuming since I did not override anything then it accepts my default settings?

In the scenario designer presets New Mud and Snow Rules and New Density Rules are set to ON. Yet when you say you started the turn and you looked at Game Options they were set of OFF. If you did not manually set them to OFF then they should still be set to ON. Something is not right here. Without player intervention they should have remained as the scenario designer set them. They should not have changed.

You might want to drop the developers a note about it. I don't think it's supposed to do that. Good catch.

Thanks guys, I noticed it but was not sure what exactly was wrong and figured I was doing something wrong.

The scenario is The Next War 1979 it is the one that came with the game. I was figuring it would overwrite my settings but it does not. Thanks for reporting it.

It happens in other scenarios too. I used Red Thunder II as an example where this occurs. It is probably a common bug. Thanks for posting it.
