Allies vs. Skynet AAR Cont.

Hello all, here we are into March of 1942 and, if all goes as planned you'll soon be able to see where things stand rather than just rely on my words.

Starting off in China where the Nationalists just liberated Canton. The Japanese have made no progress at all in China and have even been pushed back here in the South while the British hold onto Hong Kong. Chinese infantry weapons are at 1 and they are getting close to infantry weapons 2.

There has been no real progress in northern China with it all going back on forth like a seesaw. The Chicoms never made it into the war and I'm sort of tempted to pull back just to draw them in. Japanese tanks were ineffective.

Here is the situation in the middle east. The Indian army has held at the Sinai which has given the combined British and Indian forces time to topple the Iraqi coup leaders (I never took Baghdad, it just fell apart on its own accord). I was also able to destroy and Italian medium bomber which had been in Western Iraq. I have a very large force of Americans and Canadians coming across the Atlantic and I'm not sure if they should mark time in Britain or head to the middle east.

Ethiopia is basically a dead end right now. I can't get supply there and the Italians have a supply level of 7.

In Russia, it looks like good weather has come to the Ukraine. My counter offensive did not go very well, I damaged an Hungarian corps that retreated rather than get destroyed and the Germans in their counter attack wiped out a mech army and an infantry army. I'm going to pull back and put the air force behind me. So far the soviets have been getting nice MMPs (the lend lease from America is a no brainer and the the Brits are pitching in as well).

In north Russia steady German pressure is finally cracking the line of the river that flows out through Riga but the terrain and tough fighting have really held them up. I plan to keep falling back as necessary to try to hold onto Moscow while my army builds up. Rumania is still not in the war! There are British, American, and Russian missions there to try to keep it that way. The Finns are in the war but, thus far, they have not done anything.

In the Pacific, Japan is pushing into Malaya and Burma. The American fleet showed up outside of Hawaii and sank a Japanese light cruiser. I suspect there will be something of a stalemate now while I rebuild at Pearl and the IJN hunkers down at Kawjalien (sp?).

Notable events include the fact that I did not send Stilwell to China, I opened the Burma Road and England spent a lot of money in Argentina which does not really seem to do much

It's no mid-June 1942 and the most devious thing skynet did was put .50 cals on his Ju-52s because his paratroops landed behind my Indian army in the Sinai (which was very bold) and when intercepted by my level 2 fights the transports shot down three fighter points. Then, the paratroops landed and moved to kill the fighter unit completely. That Skynet sure is tricky.

The Sinai held this turn and I've managed to put it back into supply. If it can hold one more turn I'll be able to reinforce the army.

In the Ukraine I think I've given the Germans a bit of a pause. I killed an Italian tank corps and I have a number of tank armies there with Zuhkov. My airforce is not really that good since the fighters are still level zero but it will be tough for skynet to make much headway unless he sends his panzers down here. If he keeps pushing forward then my tanks should have some good hunting, especially among the allied corps.

It's a bit more dicey in the Center. I did manage to wear the panzer unit (you can see it in the center) down to two strength points but he has a couple of other tank units floating around. I'm still in pretty good defensive terrain but, as you can see, I only have one tank unit helping out. Skynet has pushed up to the fortified line near Leningrad and is about to take out the Russian sub.

Japan is stymied for now in Burma and has been unable to take Rangoon. This may be hindering his supply. In Indochina there is a front line at Hanoi but not much else going one. He is also about to land in Malaya while the US fleet is edging closer to Kawajalein.

And in northern china I"ve been pulling back. Part of the problem is that skynet now has infantry level 2 weapons but I'm also trying to see if I can get the Chicoms to get off the wagon and start pushing. I mean, what's little civil war between friends.

In other news St. Nazaire got blown up, I'm stockpiling supplies for Leningrad and I've hunted down two subs in the mid-atlantic. There are four allied units in the Western Med with a very large fleet that are trying to get to the Eastern med in an attempt to keep that front alive. Rumania is still not in the way! Mexico joined the US.

Sorry for the delay. Travel got in the way. In any event, in China the Chinese army continues to hold the line and even push back a bit except here in the north. The Japanese pushed and I figured I might as well let them get close to Mao. He has grown concerned about the Japanese advance (pro allied 63%) and does not suspect a devious Nationalist trick to lure him into the war. The Japanese did lose an army to Chinese counter attacks up here. I continue to hold that bulge hexside since it ties up so many Japanese units.

In Southern China the Japanese army in Amoy is holding firm and the siege lines at Hanoi have not changed. That would be a good place to capture to ease the burden on Chinese resupply from America.

In other news, both Rangoon and port Moresby fell. The Japanese navy is nowhere to be seen and the US navy is near Kajalwen (sp?). I may send it and the four carriers down to Australia to help defend that against a Japanese invasion. The Japanese have also moved next to Singapore.

In the mideast, Allied reinforcements have arrived and will be directed against the paratroop unit. The Indian army held the Sinai, again, and is the real hero of this whole situation. Sadly, the Germans captured Port Sudan, but the real wonder is that they have not taken more.

In Russia the line around Leningrad is creaking. The Germans pushed through the southern part with ease but hopefully the swamps will slow them down a bit while we pray for bad weather. The Germans have infantry level 2 right now which is giving them a real edge.

Around Moscow it's a wide open front! The germans have been pushing hard and I"m buidling new units as fast as I can. My real hope is that it is late enough in the summer that the Germans cannot push far enough. I'm trying to keep the infantry in woods and cities to reduce the effectiveness of his armor.
